This crate was shipped from Czechoslovakia to the National Council of Jewish Women in Nashville, Tennessee, with the household belongings of Srul Kapusta and his family. In addition to receiving shipped goods, the Nashville chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women was charged with resettling Holocaust refugees during and after World War II. After their arrival, the Kapusta family resettled in Nashville and remained there for several years. This crate is a rare find as each family was only allowed one crate and was not allowed to ship anything more than would fit into the container.
