The Tennessee State Museum and the Nashville Public Library begin another year of Tennessee’s Book Club with a heart-wrenching novel based on true events that took place in Memphis, Tennessee. Georgia Tann, director of a Memphis-based adoption organization, facilitated child trafficking by kidnapping and selling children born to low income households to wealthy families all around the United States. Author Lisa Wingate’s riveting, wrenching, and ultimately uplifting tale aims to remind us how even though our paths lead to different places, the heart never forgets where we belong.
