The Tennessee State Museum hosts a wide range of FREE, fascinating events and educational programs throughout the year. Advance reservations are not required, unless indicated on the listing. For seated events, seats are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Join us at the Museum this summer for a variety of activities happening Tuesdays through Saturdays. In the event of a special program, the special program's schedule will take precedent. Click here for the summer schedule.

Please Note: The Children's Gallery will be intermittently closed through mid-July for renovations. Please call (615) 741-2692 before visiting if you are interested in its status. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Tennessee Storytime: Bandit Goes on a Picnic

For parents, grandparents and caregivers with young children ages 3-6, we invite you to join us for Tennessee Storytime. This is a great place for children to hear Miss Morgan read books related to our state’s people, culture, and history. Be sure to take advantage of some Tennessee-themed activities and crafts related to the books. 

Let’s celebrate National Picnic Day by reading Bandit Goes on a Picnic. Bandit the raccoon finds a picnic and decides to find out what smells so good! What adventure will this little raccoon get into?

Storytime takes place in person in the Museum's Children's Gallery.

Videos of past books being read by Miss Morgan are located on the Museum’s website under TSM Kids.
