The Three Rs of Reconstruction: Rights, Restrictions and Resistance

The Tennessee State Museum is excited to debut our newest trunk, The Three Rs of Reconstruction: Rights, Restrictions and Resistance. This trunk discusses the Reconstruction era in Tennessee with a focus on the issues facing African Americans during this time. Your students will explore the rights that were given to them, the restrictions that were placed on these rights and the resistance that followed these changes to society. Designed for an 8th grade audience, this trunk will provide students with primary source material and hands-on activities in each lesson.
